If you live in Buffalo, you’ve heard of the Broadway market by now, or have even been. It’s older than literally everyone living in Buffalo, so if you haven’t heard of it, you must be living under a rock. Broadway market is a Buffalo staple, especially during Easter season. “Visiting Buffalo’s historic Broadway Market at Easter time is a tradition for many families in western New York,” Buffalo’s Mayor Brown said at the blessing of the Easter basket which took place at the kickoff of Easter season at the market.
The Broadway market offers a beautiful array of family-owned and operated butcher shops, poultry stands, fruit/vegetable stands, and bakeries. It also features candy shops, delis and restaurants. The market is home to Babcia’s Pierogi. Babcia’s offers 23 flavors of pierogies as well as other favorite Polish comfort food, hand-made on site!! (And person to person, if you aren’t interested in anything else the market holds, just go for the pierogies, trust me.) And if the above items haven’t sparked your interest, the Easter Bunny is in town!!!
Easter season at the market brings not only the Easter bunny but also several local vendors with lots of special goodies. Hand-painted eggs, lots of sweet treats, and various other Easter specialties. Perfect place to find Easter basket content, AND the tried and true BUTTER LAMB!! If you don’t have a butter lamb at Easter then what are you doing??? It’s a NECESSITY!! And you can find butter lambs bigger than your head at Broadway market. No, I’m not kidding…..
So, if you don’t have a butter lamb, or you want to try really really really good pierogies, OR if you just want a good time get to Broadway market!!!
