Quick Look @ Basketball - Bryant & Stratton

Basketball here at Bryant and Stratton College was re-introduced in 2017-18. Bryant and Stratton basketball is a member of the USCAA which stands for the United States Collegiate Athletic Association. The USCAA is a national organization that hosts more than 70 different small colleges including some junior and community colleges. We play a few different colleges and universities throughout the eastern and central states of the U.S. We also share the conference with three of the other Bryant and Stratton colleges that are in Rochester, Syracuse, and Albany. There are three different divisions in the USCAA, Division 1, Division 2, and Division 3. Bryant and Stratton College Buffalo competes at the Division 1 level. I have been on the basketball team at Bryant and Stratton Buffalo for the past 3 years. I became interested in the program because I was interested in playing for head coach Damone Brown. Coach Brown, who is a Buffalo native, played basketball at Syracuse University and played professionally for the Philadelphia 76ers. I saw this as a good opportunity to play basketball and get professional tips from someone who has been to the NBA. My first season at Bryant and Stratton Buffalo was a successful one. We finished 24-7 and reached the national championship game but fell short losing 80-69 to Paul Quinn College a college from Dallas Texas. I averaged 12.2 points per game along with 7.4 rebounds per game. I was named team MVP and got Second Team All-Conference honors to go along with the All-Tournament team at the National Championship. My second season we experienced some of the same success going 19-8 and returning for a chance at the championship again. Again, we fell short of another

chance to win the championship, losing 76-59 to Salem University a tough NCAA Division 2 opponent. During my second season I averaged 8.2 points to go along with 5.9 rebounds per game. With continued success the basketball program has been on the rise. We look to continue

the success this season and hopefully bring the championship back to Buffalo.
